I am so delighted, I can’t tell you! So many of my wonderful customers bothered to take the time and not only vote for me but say some truly terrific stuff about my products and service, thank you thank you!!
It is the first award I have ever entered and I was asked may questions which were a pleasure to answer. Here they are!
How did you begin to work in your chosen wedding business?
Two of my great great uncles were the owners of newspaper companies and my father is a publisher. Printing has always fascinated me, from choosing the perfect typeface, to the smell of ink on a page! I love the idea of creating an exquisitely printed wedding invitation that formalises the couple’s engagement as well as to give an insight to the style of the big day itself!
What motivates you to supply the best service you can?
I was trained to say ‘yes’ to everything stationery, which is incredibly exciting when ideas are discussed! I am always courteous and I really get to know my customers. I feel privileged to be part of something so personal and special and there are no words to describe their faces when they open the box – I just love it!
How many years’ experience do you have in your chosen business and also the wedding sector as a whole?
15 years this year (10 years working for myself).
What steps do you have in place, if a bride &/or groom is unhappy with the service that have received?
Oh no, it’s awful when this happens! I have never had anything go terribly wrong but if a colour isn’t quite what they had in mind, I feel so sorry about it. I make a point of always trying to make things right. Firstly, my rule of printing is to always allow enough time for a reprint before their deadline. Depending on the problem, I will offer a part refund or a reprint.
How do you work with the bride & groom to make sure the journey is a journey to remember?
Well this is the wonderful part! Their personality always comes out through their chosen invitation design. By the end of the process, the invitation set they choose is a reflection of the wedding day to come but most importantly who they are as a couple. I love seeing the design materialise and not to mention their joy and sometimes surprise at it too!
What do you as a wedding business measure customer feedback?
Customer feedback is incredibly important. When I get an email from a customer after they have collected their stationery I always dread to look… it seems to always be a thank you but it never ceases to terrify me! If I were to get negative feedback (and I’m sure the time will come), I would be devastated but hopefully learn quickly from it and learn how to improve.
The Wedding Business Awards is passionate about our ‘’Company Ethos’’, Does your wedding business have an ethos?
First and foremost integrity. accountability. Commitment to customers, passion (unavoidable), continuous learning and improvement and last but not least exceptional quality.
If your wedding business won our prestigious wedding award, what would it mean to you and for wedding business?
It would be my first award! I would wear it with pride on all my social media, website and anywhere else I could include it!!!
